The Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016 requires written statement for your converted occupation contract(s)

It is now a legal requirement, where you had pre-existing tenancies (and some licences), before 1st December 2022 that have continued after this date. Under The Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016 these contracts will have automatically converted to become ‘’occupation contracts’’.

The legislation requires you to provide a written statement of the converted occupation contract to your tenants (now referred to as ‘‘contract-holders’’) before the end of the “information period”. This information period is defined as until the end of May 2023. Failure to provide a compliant written statement within this time frame can incur financial penalties and restrict your ability to seek possession of your property.

The task of producing a properly compliant written statement can in itself be a daunting and challenging task, even for those with some legal knowledge. Therefore, we are pleased to announce we are in a position to be able to complete this task on your behalf and provide you with the confidence it will also be fully compliant within the spirit of The Renting Homes (Wales) 2016 Act.
